Getting Started
Finding your way around
A quick tour of the portal home, the top menu, switching language, notifications and your profile.
Once you're signed in and set up, the portal is your home base. Here's how it's laid out.
Your portal home
Your home page greets you and shows a card for each role you hold - Parent, Teacher or Therapist. Tap a card to jump into that area.
At the top you may also see an attention strip - quick alerts that need you, such as approval requests waiting for your decision or a mood alert about a child. Deal with these first; they link straight to the right place.
If you've signed up but haven't finished setting up a role yet, your home page shows a prompt to complete setup or explains that your access is still pending approval.
The top menu
The bar across the top of every page has:
- The PEN Play logo - tap it to return home.
- A language switcher - see below.
- Docs - this help centre.
- Support - contact the PEN Play team.
- Portal - jump into your dashboard.
- A notification bell and your profile menu on the far right.
Switching language
PEN Play is available in English and Afrikaans. Use the language switcher in the top bar to change it at any time. Your choice is remembered and applied automatically the next time you sign in.
Notifications
- The bell in the top bar shows your latest notifications.
- Choose how you're notified - email and push - under Notification settings in your profile menu.
Your profile
Open the menu at the top-right to reach:
- My Profile - your name, email and the roles you hold, plus Add another role.
- Notification settings - your notification preferences.
- Sign out.
