For Parents
Approving requests
Respond to schools, therapists and devices that want to connect to your child - and how declining works.
As a parent, you're in control of who connects to your child. When a school, therapist or device wants access, you get an approval request to accept or decline.
Where requests appear
- On your portal home attention strip.
- On your Approval requests page, where you can review each one in full.
The page updates live, so new requests show up without you having to refresh.
Kinds of request
- Join a class or practice - a school or therapist is asking to add your child to a classroom or playgroup so they can support their learning.
- Game link - a device is asking to link to your child's account so it can play as them.
Responding
- Open Approval requests.
- Read who is asking and what they want access to.
- Choose Approve or Decline.
Approving grants the access straight away. Declining keeps things as they are.
How declining works
Declining is designed to protect your child while still leaving room for a genuine mistake to be corrected:
- You can decline a request the first time.
- If the same request keeps coming back and you don't want it, you can firmly block it so it stops.
Tip
If you're unsure who's asking, it's fine to decline for now and follow up with the school or therapist directly before approving.
