Linking the Whartels game

Download the game and connect your child's device using the Student QR, a link request, or their Child ID.

Your child plays on the Whartels app. Linking the app to their portal profile is what makes their progress, achievements and mood appear on your dashboard.

1. Download the game

On your child's phone or tablet, install Whartels from the App Store (Apple) or Google Play (Android). Open it and tap Add New Player to begin.

2. Find your child's QR code and ID

Back in the portal:

  1. Open your child's profile and look for Join a Class.
  2. Tap Show Student QR.
  3. A unique QR code and Child ID appear. Keep this screen open - you'll need it in the next step.
Tip

You can Copy ID from this screen to paste it elsewhere. The Child ID is the same value the QR code represents.

3. Link the device - pick any one method

There are three ways to connect the device. They all achieve the same result, so choose whichever is easiest.

  • A - Link Online. In the game, tap Link Online, sign into the portal, then press Link next to your child.
  • B - Scan QR Code. Use the child's device to scan the QR code shown in the portal. The account links automatically.
  • C - Paste Child ID. Copy the Child ID from the portal and paste it into the game when prompted.

Once linked, your child can start playing straight away, and their activity begins appearing on your dashboard.

Troubleshooting a link

  • QR won't scan? Make sure the code is fully visible and well lit, then try again - or use Paste Child ID instead.
  • Child still can't play after linking? They likely need an active seat. See Adding a child and Subscription & billing.
